Unload some of the troops and trucks.
Went ashore and bought some presents.
Came back 2200 and wished it possible to be home on New Year's Eve.

Passed quarantine and alongside dock at 0130.

Curtis Patrol Planes from Ocolopti patrol from air.
Temperature about 80 or 85 on December 26..
1815 U.S.S. Biddle overtook convoy probably from Key West Patrol.

Christmas. Sea calm enroute Panama on U.S.S. Crescent City.
U.S.S. President Adams, U.S.S. Exter and Submarine Grampus.
Passed off shore from Jacksonville at 1200.
At about 1300 Pres. Adams sighted submarine periscope and fired several shots. Claims torpedo passed astern Exter.
Pby patrol planes patrol ahead of convoy during day light.
Had a good dinner even though not at home to enjoy it.
Turn in 2100.
