1815 U.S.S. Biddle overtook convoy probably from Key West Patrol.

Christmas. Sea calm enroute Panama on U.S.S. Crescent City.
U.S.S. President Adams, U.S.S. Exter and Submarine Grampus.
Passed off shore from Jacksonville at 1200.
At about 1300 Pres. Adams sighted submarine periscope and fired several shots. Claims torpedo passed astern Exter.
Pby patrol planes patrol ahead of convoy during day light.
Had a good dinner even though not at home to enjoy it.
